Can’t really comment on women’s outdoors clubs etc, but it’s a shame it’s not more widely appreciated by the fairer sex. I’ve been in China for over 3 years now and it’s always great to see how active people of all ages are, compared to Britain. Cycling is seen as a perfectly natural way to get around, not something you do because you can’t afford a car.

Yep, it’s getting better here, too. Lots more people out on bikes and keeping healthy. Thanks for your comment.

I’ve often wondered why more females don’t enjoy outdoors activities. I love hillwalking, mountain biking and kayaking and enjoy heading to the hills on my own – especially as I work weekends and can enjoy the hills midweek and love being out there on my own. I very rarely see solo women hillwalkers.

I was a keen hillwalker before I met my hubby, and after many years hiking together as a family I now find, although he still enjoys walking, it’s always me who suggests backpacking, camping or hiking trips. Yet, on many blogs or discussion forums the guys complain they can’t persuade their female partners to go camping or bothying.

Well, I am absolutely delighted to hear from you Sheila! The more women getting their blokes out in the outdoors the better. Or just go yourself!
