Choose the right swimwear for your adventure trip

Whatever your plans for an adventure holiday, the chances are you will pack swimwear. Whether you go swimming in the Med, take a dip in the warm waters of a natural spring in Iceland or have a go at sea kayaking or wind-surfing while on holiday the swimwear that you choose to wear can have a big impact on your level of comfort and performance while in the water. From speedos and swimming shorts for the guys to bikinis and one-pieces for the ladies, here is how swimwear can make a difference to your adventure trip:

Practicality

Aim to choose the right swimwear to suit your activity. A bikini might be perfect for lying on the beach and enjoying a quick dip in the sea but it won’t be so practical if you head to attempt a water slide in a water park! A swimsuit that has fuller cover, such as a one-piece, will be better for more active sports.

Likewise, if you plan to wear a wetsuit over the swimming costume you might want to think about wearing a one-piece or adding a rash top. Longer swimming shorts for men are more suitable for sports that are more active, so you might want to leave brief style shorts for the beach

Physics

When you swim, whether you are in a pool, the sea or any other form of water, drag slows your body down and this is often impacted further by your swimwear. While you cannot stop drag from occurring, you can reduce it by picking the right kind of swimwear. Choose a one-piece suit that is neat-fitting or one that claims to reduce drag. There are plenty of these on the market these days.

Bright and colourful designs.

Comfort

Simply put, not everyone loves to bare it all when they get in the water. Always ensure that you pick a piece of swimwear that makes you feel happy and confident, whether you are a man or a woman.

There are plenty of options, including those that have built in bras and flattering waist details for women. Add shorts or a mini skirt if you prefer.

Longer shorts partnered with a t-shirt can be a good choice for men who are less confident about their bodies. In particular, loser fitting swimming shorts are a great option.

Also, choose bright and funky designs that make you smile.

Technology

If you are looking to go on an adventure holiday that involves competitive sporting activities or races, it is important that you consider taking some hi-tech swimwear with you in order to increase your chances of winning and performing at your very best.

Ease of movement

Swimming is a very demanding form of all over body exercise which is why you should make sure your swimwear allows you to move with ease and odes not rub the skin, such as under the arm. Try on lots of different styles to make sure you find one that feels the most comfortable.
