It was a lovely walk, thanks for the suggestion.

Is it flat around the path or are you on the edge (ie is there any chance of kids falling off the edge or of mother with fear of heights being scared of falling off edge?)

No big edge danger! A narrow path for about 50 m below the summit but there is no danger of falling off! You’ll love it. Tell me how you get on.

I’m traviling with my family to scotland in february and are looking for few short 2-4 hours walks not to far away from edinburgh/stirling if the weathers allowes it. This looks like a nice place to walk. How is the path during winter?

The path should be fine although muddy and wet. It is steep at the start but there are stone steps. Make sure you wear good quality walking boots. You can see the top as you approach so you should be able to spot any snow, if it’s there. This is a relatively low hill so snow should not cause a problem but make sure you know how to navigate if clouds are low etc. I would reserve this lovely hill for a clear-ish day.
