Scottish photos: Jock’s Road

Written by Fiona June 09 2010

Janey from guided walking and mountain biking holiday company Glentrek in Angus has sent me these two gorgeous pics of Jock’s Road, a right of way that is claimed to be the oldest in Scotland. (I said “claimed”, before you all write to tell me you know of one that’s older!) The old drove road links Glen Clova with Braemar and looks absolutely amazing with the purple hues of the heather.

Glentrek organises some fantastic guided and self-guided walks in the wider Angus area, and can assist with accommodation, baggage transfer, transport etc. The company is passionate about the outdoors and the guides really know their stuff. Angus is a lovely place to go walking and offers a wide range of walks to suit all abilities. There are some of the easiest Munros here, too, so if you’re thinking about doing a round of Munros why not start here?

Thanks for sending these pics Janey. Does anyone else have any they’d like to email?
