I too have signed up for the Edinburgh MoonWalk, but the half distance. I will be doing it with my mum & sister.

I have fancied in the past partaking, but never had a chance! marathons & cycling took over…so when my sister suggested it, I jumped at the chance.

It will be particularly special, as my mum is currently recovering from breast cancer…

I have no great qualms about the distance, but my mum & sister are not exactly known for their participation in exercise!

Regardless of how it all pans out – we are doing it at a mother & her daughters team and I am very much looking forward to it.

Good luck with your training, Ellen. And I eagerly await your next instalment 🙂

  2. Ellen- make sure that you take care of your feet. After training you either bathe or shower – make sure that you air dry your feet until they are completely dry , before putting on socks or shoes. Your feet should always be allowed to experience fresh air for a couple of hours per day.

Great tip Barry. Wearing wick away socks, especially those with merino wool, will be a huge advantage too.

Good luck with your training, too! You’ll need to get you mum and sister out walking! You and Ellen can compare notes!

  5. Hi Leigh, I’m so pleased your mum is doing well and Moonwalking to celebrate.
I think it’s a really inspiring event because of people like your mum. have a wonderful time.

Hi Barry, Thanks for the advice. I’m going to have to pay my feet far more attention.
