MoonWalk Edinburgh looking for volunteers

Written by Fiona May 29 2012

I have taken part in the Edinburgh MoonWalk twice. It’s a challenging event, but it raises a lot of money for breast cancer causes, so I’d highly recommend it. However, the event would not run so smoothly without a dedicated team of volunteer supporters.

This year’s MoonWalk Edinburgh, which takes place on June 9 and 10, requires an army of volunteers to support the expected 10,000 walkers taking part in a Marathon or Half Marathon challenge.

The event is looking for marshals to support and guide walkers around the streets of Edinburgh, or help with the supply of water at the designated areas. They also need volunteers on-site to award walkers with a medal, help in the kitchen, hand out water and space blankets, work in the WalkWear shop and much, much more.

In return for their hard work, volunteers will be donating their time to a charitable cause, getting to know Edinburgh and meeting some fabulous people and adding something special to their CV.

Do you have some time to spare for this major fund-raising event? For more information visit: www.walkthewalk.org/Volunteer/TheMoonWalkEdinburgh, or contact either Sue or Abi in the office on 01483 741 430.
