Giveaway: Two entries to the Edinburgh Rock ’n’ Roll Half-marathon
I have two places to give away for the Edinburgh Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon on Sunday April 14, 2013. Following a successful first event last year, the concept that combines a running event with live street music and DJs is back again. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series originated in San Diego, America, and has now become a hit in Scotland’s capital.
Event director, Shannon Davis, said: “The inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon was a huge success and we’re looking forward to returning to Edinburgh bigger and better in 2013. We expect to attract around 7,000 runners this year with many travelling from all over the world to enjoy the festival-like atmosphere and the exciting race route offering stunning views of the city.”
Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon events attract both competitive runners and people who are looking to have fun while getting fit. It’s a great event to take part in whether you’re looking to achieve a new personal best or just want to run dressed up as your favourite rock icon.
Starting and finishing at Holyrood Park, highlights along the race route include Grassmarket, the Meadows, the Mound, the Queen’s Palace at Holyrood, the Scottish Parliament building, Edinburgh Castle, Portobello Promenade, the Firth of Forth and Arthur’s Seat.
Entry is now open for the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon with registration available at £39. The registration fee also includes an official Brooks Technical t-shirt, a runners bag, course support, finish line snacks, live course and finish line entertainment and one of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s highly coveted finishers medals (see pic).
Two entries to giveaway for half-marathon
To be in with a chance of winning a place, worth £39, for the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon, just tell me why you like running. You can comment on this blog post or “like” my Facebook page and tell me there. I’ll choose my two favourite answers and pass on your names to the organiser for your free places. Winners will be chosen this Friday (Feb 1) at 2pm.
I love it because it reminds me every day that I am not grounded or limited by my disabled childhood or morbidely obese adulthood. I love that it has given me a new life and a hunger for something other than junk food.
This is an excellent answer. I will choose the winners on Friday.
I took up running over 10 years ago after my wife said I was getting fat, I said tapping my rotund belly “never mind you’re stuck with me “,im not ! she said .that night I ran 300m and was shattered, 10 years on , I have run many races including ultra marathons, mountain and fell road and trail , I love the mental de stressing that a run gives you and the physical well being, also I’m still married 🙂 and have raised 000’s for charity
i love running because no matter what stresses & strains we have in life we can get out & forget about everything for awhile. as a single mum (with rheumatoid arthritis) to 3 kids, all with very different needs inc bipolar, the est thing i can do to help my kids is to make sure i look after my mental health state so i can be strong for them.
You are one of the winners! I will email you and tell you how to claim your entry. Well done – and thanks for entering!
