Sunday Mail: Ben 10 challenge

Written by Fiona April 28 2014

Ten times up and down Ben Lomond. At first I wasn’t sure if this sounded like an epic enough challenge… Then I looked at the stats. Just one ascent and descent of Scotland’s most southerly Munro (974m) takes most people around four hours or more to complete.

Ten times up and down in a row would add up to huge amount of hiking – and on the same scale as climbing a few thousand feet more than the height of Mount Everest.

Two police officers from Stirling have set themselves this extraordinary Scottish challenge in September to raise funds for charity. Here’s their story in my Sunday Mail outdoors column. See April 27 left and Apr 27 r
