Mr Lacy ‘Runnies’ Reflective laces
These days, it’s great to see so many sports clothes that include hi-viz and reflective detailing. My last pair of trainers, the Saucony Kinvara 6s even came with a pair of bright yellow “see-in-the-dark” laces.
It got me thinking about how useful this might be in other pairs of trainers. A search on the internet came up with Mr Lacy Runnies Reflective Laces. Not only are they a neon yellow colour but they also have a stripe of reflective detailing running the entire length.
It’s so simple that it surprises me all trainer laces do not come with the same. Now, as the evenings draw in, I will be able to run with greater safety. Of course, I’ll most likely wear my other running clothes with reflective features but having reflective laces will only add to my visibility.
The Runnies Reflective laces are part of the Mr Lacy AlwaySafe collection. They are 120cm long, 5mm wide and fit around five to six rows of paired pace holes in your trainers (or any other kind of footwear that you want to lace these into).
You can also buy them in black and red, but with the same length of reflective detailing.
In addition, there are other useful features of “Runnies”, including lightweight, reduced elasticity for stability and hydrophobic treatment (water repellent).
More laces at Mr Lacy
A look around the site reveals more lace styles than I could ever have imagined possible. Patterned, colour-tipped, waterproof, Hexagrip, super-wide, shiny, glow-in-the-dark, two-tone and colour fade, and also Ultra Strong.
There are some bizarre-sounding collections of laces, too, such as:
Flatties (and with colour tips)
…and all in lots of different colours.
If you are looking to update your trainers, personalise them or simply replace worn laces with something stronger this is a good place to look. The prices look reasonable, too.
I wish they also sold the bumpy laces for trainers that stay tightly tied. What would they be called though? Bumpies?!
