Top camping food: Forage for your porridge

Everyone knows that porridge is a simple and nutritious meal. It’s especially good for camping trips because it’s easy to make while holidaying under canvas or from the relative comfort of a campervan.

Fuelling for adventure

The first meal of the day will help to fuel your day of outdoor adventures. Porridge registers as low on the Glycaemic Index, which means it takes a long time to digest and that means it will keep you full for longer and supplies your body with a steady stream of energy. It is also a high fibre meal, so it’s good for your body’s overall health.

Forage for your porridge

Many people add tasty treats to their porridge, including brown sugar, honey, sultanas, nuts or banana. But have you ever thought about adding foraged foods while on a camping trip?

Surveys reveal that foraging for food is part of the camping experience for more than half of Brits and it’s the perfect way to pimp up your porridge.

You could add wild blackberries, strawberries or raspberries to a pot of plain instant porridge, such as MOMA Plain Porridge Pot, for an amazing breakfast filled with natural flavour.
