Whether you are a student or a teacher of martial arts, you will understand the concept of a journey – and a commitment to the martial arts is lifelong. However long you have been practicing, there is always more that you can learn. No matter how skilled you think you are, there will always be a superior practitioner, and somebody that can highlight your weaknesses.
Do not however see this as a negative. We all want to learn how best to enjoy the journey and the sights and experiences that we encounter along the way. On a martial arts journey one of the potential “stop-off” points could be a Thailand Kung Fu retreat, where you can live, breathe and enjoy martial arts.
At the end of the retreat you will potentially receive a Martial Arts Instructors Certification, but what you will have learned will go way beyond that solitary piece of paper – let the certificate document the time, let your practices and learnings document the experience.
Why Kung Fu?
It is probably not necessary at this stage to document why martial arts is good. As a student/teacher of Kung Fu, you’ll already know the wonders of the full body workout, the mental strength required and the confidence and self-assuredness that it helps to build.
Martial arts stimulates the three components of mind, body, and soul, meaning that it is truly holistic. A Martial Arts Instructor Certification won’t prove this to anyone, your actions will, but it is always nice to have something to hang on the wall. Plus, if you want to make martial arts your career, an instructor certification is critical.
If you or a loved one appreciates martial arts, it could be time to move on to the next step. Even highly experienced martial artists dramatically expand their knowledge and understanding once they begin teaching. Having the certification opens career pathways so that martial arts can become more than a hobby. Consider making a martial arts retreat a gift to a loved one or to yourself (view more).
Why Thailand?
Naturally beautiful, Thailand offers all varieties of the best that nature can offer. Think of lush forests, breath-taking mountains, a rich culture, and world-class beaches. Training in Thailand allows you to learn and expand your horizons in a beautifully stimulating environment.
The Benefits
Whilst a Kung Fu retreat is not a “relaxing” holiday per se, you will learn many practices in addition to the art of Kung Fu. As a true and original martial art, Kung Fu doesn’t lose focus from tradition. You will benefit from teachings on meditation, relaxation, stretching and flexibility, diet and health, together with the expected elements of physical exertion.
You will gain both perspective and wisdom, insight and foresight, together with a better understanding of both the art of Kung Fu, and those that practice the art. Put simply, there is so much more to Kung Fu and its practitioners than a fighting style – think of it more as a way of life.
The more you invest in the retreat, the more you will gain from it. The more open your mind to its teachings, the more you will learn. At the end of the Kung Fu retreat, a new leg of your journey will begin, perhaps the most important leg so far. As for the Martial Arts Instructor Certification, just see that as the ticket to ride this train!
