Five great reasons to try rafting
If you are looking for a new outdoors activity to try, how about rafting? There are plenty of providers who lead rafting trips in Scotland and abroad, and they are suitable for a range of ages and aspirations depending on the river and location.
What is rafting?
Rafting is an activity that involves navigating a river on a raft, generally a boat without a hull. Rafts are usually inflatable. They can be for large groups of smaller for one or two people.
Depending on the river, a rating trip can be fast and furious with the thrills of descending white water, small waterfalls and frothing currents Or it can be a ore relaxing and slower-paced trip on a gentler river or a lake or loch.
You can choose to go rafting for a few hours or on multi-day trips and they are al graded to suit different levels and experience.
Modern rafts have from four to twenty seats. If you’re worried that the structure of rafts is unstable, you shouldn’t. Their design is pretty convenient and safe enough to withstand a tough trip through a mountain river.
5 reasons to try rafting
It’s high on adrenaline
Sometimes we get stuck in the routine, and you need a bit of fun and excitement. Rafting lets you get out of your comfort zone and try something new and exciting surrounded by nature.
A bucket list activity
We all have a list of stuff on our bucket list. Skydiving, diving, wild swimming, rafting, they should all be on there. A rafting tour perfectly fits into such a list because it’s a unique and interesting experience.
It’s a great date
If you’ve been together for a while, a rafting trip could be a great way to enjoy some quality time together. You’ll create many long-lasting memories, too. If you are looking for a new date – and something fun to enjoy together on a first or second date, rating is a great idea, too.
Outdoors amid nature
Rafting trips usually take place in amazing natural surroundings. You’ll see great landscapes and perhaps even some wildlife. A river is the artery of a region, so it attracts lots of local animals, from roes and foxes to beavers and chipmunks (depending on where you go rating), not to mention beautiful flora. And a raft is like a front seat from where you can watch all this.
Fresh mountain air…
Choose a rafting trip in the mountains for a greater sense of wilderness. Enjoy some peace and quiet and take a breath of fresh air. The smell of pine forest, tranquility and the beauty the nature around you – this is what we lack so often.
