Run-hike: 7 Lawers Munros, Perthshire

Written by Fiona

August 24 2020

I have walked and run many of the Munros in the Lawers Range, above Loch Tay, before. This time, my friend Stew and I decided to take in seven in an A to B route:

  • Meall a Choice Leith
  • Meall Corranaich
  • Beinn Ghlas
  • Ben Lawers
  • An Stuc
  • Meall Garbh
  • Meall Greigh.

Distance: 21km

Ascent: 1708m

Start: On roadside past the high Lochan na Lairige

Finish: Ben Lawers Hotel (there is a £5 charge to park for the day).

See my OS Map route.

Brief overview: It is a fantastic route and fairly easy to navigate in good weather. There are a few boggy sections to start with but after that the route is on well trodden paths.

Ben Lawers, in particular, can be busy because it’s a popular Munro. The reason for this is that the start height makes the total ascent relatively low for a Munro.

I felt like the route was either up or down with little flat in between.
