My kit reviewer Mowsie Mo has been keen to get out walking a bit more. She has just started university in Sheffield and has spotted a few hills on the horizon. When back home, she is occasionally enticed out on coastal walks with her family’s dog  Hudson.

Hi-tec were kind enough to send Mo a pair of Lynx Trail Mid height walking boots.

Mo writes:  The boots fit really well although I felt they were a little tight around the ankle when wearing thick socks. I think the boots will probably loosen off as they wear in so the slight tightness will not be a problem. Also, I think it is better that the boots gripped my ankle and stayed in place rather than moving about and rubbing.

The boots are brilliant for gripping the ground. I walk in lots of mud and ice and I felt really steady on my feet. They are also 100% waterproof. I can vouch for this because Hudson pulled me unwillingly into the sea at Scarborough and my feet stayed dry. I was very impressed.

The Lynx walking boots kept my feet at a comfortable temperature. My feet didnt feel too warm nor too cold. This is important to me because I have very bad circulation. (Note to Mowsie Mo: check out my socks review)

I also think the boots look fantastic even though the colour might not be my first choice. I know that walking boots do not have to look good but people are more likely to wear them and get outdoors if they feel like the boots are attractive.

I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for comfortable footwear for trail walking, in summer and winter weather. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of these.
