I did my first cyclocross – Callendar Park, Falkirk – event on a cyclocross bike last weekend. It was a lot more fun than I’d imagined. It was also very muddy, exhausting, exhilarating and  friendly.

I came home 2nd lady vet and 10th out of all the 30 women.

This is a fast-growing winter sport and offers a race for all ages and abilities. Take a look at this video of the Loch Lomond Cyclocross course. This race takes place on Sunday October 27. It would be a great first-try for cyclocross I reckon. Also see Scottish Cyclocross for more events in the coming months.
