Four Scottish runners plan to run four marathons day after day – just to reach the start line of the London Marathon. They will run that marathon, too!
Stuart MacDonald, Christopher Hanlon, Lily Dyu and Francis Gilroy will run from Glasgow to London over four days – totalling at least a marathon a day and 462 miles – and then take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2015 on April 26
The four are part of a fund-raising group, Team CY Run, which was formed four years ago to raise money for different charities. One of the main charities is the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and to date they have raised almost £95,000.
Their aim for 2015 is to reach £100,000 to benefit the Brick by Brick Appeal, which will see a new home being built by the Hospice.
The Hospice’s rainbow-striped mascot, Harvey the Heart, will also run the London Marathon. Last year, Harvey scroed the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon by a mascot in a time of 3 hours 51 minutes.
