The Statue of Liberty, the Hollywood sign and the bright lights of the Vegas strip are just a few of the icons of American culture. The United States is a vast land filled with some of the world’s greatest cities, famous coastlines and a variety of different cultures and people. Travelling to America is an experience everyone should have on their bucket list. Here are our top five destinations for a fantastic trip.

New York skyline.

1 New York City

The Big Apple is the city that never sleeps and by the time the sun sets on your first evening in NYC, you will know why it has this moniker. There is still plenty to do during the day as well. Take a stroll in the legendary Central Park, do some window shopping on 5th avenue and then head back to one of New York’s historic hotels to freshen up for the evening.

Spend your evening taking in a show on Broadway; have a mixologist whip you up a few cocktails at a bar while you admire the dimming silhouette of the skyline; walk through Times Square to marvel at the bright lights. New York has an electrifying atmosphere and there is so much to do and experience that you could spend a week there and still not see it all.

Capital Hill, Washington DC.

2 Washington DC

Monuments and museums are what Washington DC is all about. Take in American history and the evolution of their culture and society. Stop by Mount Vernon and visit the home of George Washington on your way to one of the cities many theatres and galleries. The beautiful cherry blossoms are in full bloom from late March to early April and are a wonder to behold.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles.

3 Los Angeles

International celebrities and musicians enjoy the tropical feel of the Californian coastline. Visiting the beach communities of California and the city of Los Angeles will have you doing a little shopping on Rodeo drive, taking long walks on the beachfront, and touring Beverley hills looking for film stars.

The sign says it all!

4 Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip, hidden in the depths of Nevada’s desert, is home to the world’s most luxurious hotels and casinos. This desert oasis is alive with gamblers, tourists, sports celebrities, and top class restaurants. Las Vegas in an entertainment paradise that has something for everyone don’t be afraid to try something new; what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

Wonderful nature of Hawaii.

5 The Hawaiian Islands

Nestled in the tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean are the islands of Hawaii. Hawaii consists of eight islands that have some of the world’s best beaches. The wildlife and lush jungles of the islands are incredibly diverse and make the evenings come to life with sounds. Spend your days on the beach with a cocktail and then watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from the balcony of your hotel.

Any trip to the US should be planned well in advance. If you are travelling from Scotland, make sure you inquire with your travel agent about an ESTA visa. A professional agent will guide you through the process and help you with resources to check the ESTA status easily and ensure the success of your application. Also, why not leave your worries behind in self storage before you fly across the pond?
