The Heart 200 is a new tarmac tour to join a collection of road routes around Scotland, including the North Coast 500, the North East 250 and the South West Coastal 300.
The Heart 200 route heads through the cities of Perth and Stirling, many popular tourist towns and villages, and via the delightful landscapes of The Trossachs and Highland Perthshire.
Heart 200 is a circular route on existing public roads and heads through a broad 30-mile corridor. There are sub-routes suitable for walkers, cyclists and bikers, as well as motorists.
An array of visitor attractions and activities can be found on or close to the 200-mile route, which uniquely links Scotland’s two national parks: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs (they count as one) and The Cairngorms.
Robert Cairns, managing director of Heart 200, which launched in June, said: “Heart 200 has been designed to encourage tourism into the heart of Scotland.
“We aim to offer visitors a unique holiday experience. It is a leisurely journey through the stunning heart of Scotland, giving visitors the option of staying in the area for as long as possible.”
Robert added: “The website is full of ideas for planning a holiday, providing suggested itineraries and tours and highlighting the numerous attractions and places to eat and spend time.”
Caroline Warburton, VisitScotland Regional Leadership Director, said: “Spanning Perthshire, Stirling and Scotland’s two national parks, the Heart 200 route is an exciting initiative which takes in some of the country’s best assets.”
Many tourism attractions are welcoming the new heart 200 initiative. Donald Riddle, director of Highland Safaris in Aberfeldy, said: “Heart 200 brings a focus to this stunning part of Scotland. Perthshire, Stirlingshire and The Trossachs have so much to offer.”
Thomas Moffat, director of Loch Leven Brewery in Kinross, said: “The addition of Heart 200 allows a new and exciting vehicle to reach even more visitors, and we are excited about being part of this fantastic new initiative.”
A new Heart 200 website provides a guide for people to plan their holidays in this beautiful part of Scotland.
