#GiveCOVIDtheBoot outdoors video to inspire you to do something else instead
I am supporting the campaign #GiveCOVIDtheboot with this video that aims to inspire outdoorsy people to find alternative ways to stay motivated, fit and healthy during lockdown 2020. All of the ideas can be done at home or locally.
Many thanks to the stars of my #GiveCOVIDtheBoot video. In appearance order:
Alison from Milngavie has been discovering new local trails while running and walking.
Ben, from Edinburgh, has been practising his Man Leg (it does need a bit of work!).
Ben, from Killearn, has been walking the whippet many more miles.
Munro bagger extraordinaire Hazel Strachan has been bivvying in her garden. Is that called “givvying?”
Beardy, from Busby, Glasgow, has been swapping mountains for maps and live music for livestreams
Duncan McCallum, who will be launching an indoor climbing centre in Inverness as soon as… has been lockdown climbing on his DIY at-home wall. Find out more about The Ledge.
Archie, from the Isle of Skye, has been learning about local birdlife with mum Tansy.
Rowan, from Surrey, has been discovering the wonders of Apollo 11…
… while, mum Myrid has been skating back to the eighties.
Elaine, from Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, has been hiking stairs to the height of a Munro in her house to raise funds for Scottish Mountain Rescue. #hikeinthehoose.
Honor Wilson-Fletcher, CEO of the British Exploring Society, has been listening to birdsong on early morning runs on local patches of green.
Fiona, of Elderslie in Renfrewshire, is cycling the route of the Tour de France on her turbo.
Katy, from Strathpeffer, has run a Munro and a marathon on her driveway.
Cormac, from Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, has been having fun discovering new places around his village.
Calum Maclean, of Inverness, has run a marathon around his house. Follow his adventures on Instagram.
And I have been “gamping” (garden camping). Gamping is a great idea for lockdown.
Thanks to Sebastian Martin, of the Tinkering Studio in San-Franciso, too, for his animated boot juggling.
