Super Sparrow sells practical – and funky looking – stainless steel drinking bottles in a range of sizes and designs. I have an ultra-light 500ml version with a crew cap. I was sent the bottle to test in return for an honest review.

My thoughts: Super Sparrow ultra-light stainless steel drinking bottle
There are plenty of these sorts of insulated bottles on the market. Many are made in bright colours, too. However, I was drawn to the really nice designs and colours of the Super Sparrow bottles.
I wasn’t sure that the ultra-light 500ml was much lighter than another bottle I have (similar; different brand) but when I weighed them, the Super Sparrow was 284g, while the other bottle was 310g. This is not a huge weight saving but it is lighter and every gram can count when you are carrying kit around in a rucksack.
I’ve tested both hot and cold drinks and they stay hot and cold for a long time. Other similar bottles feel warm on the outside when I fill them with a hot drink but the Super Sparrow stays cool to the touch, which is as I would expect. It means the bottle is well insulated.
The screw top is easy to use and watertight. I like the handy silicone carrying handle on the lid, too.
The stainless steel is very robust and the powder coating makes the bottle easy to grip. Some bottles are too smooth on the outside and slip through your hand, especially if you are wearing gloves.
I use the bottle for travelling, while walking in the hills and mountains and for general hydration purposes when out and about.
Quite a few people have commented on the lovely design of my bottle. While looks should not sway you more than practicals, it is nice to have a good looking item of outdoors kit.
I’m really happy with the quality of the bottle.
