Review: Ultimate Performance Advanced F3D insoles

Running and walking creates impact through our bodies, including joints and feet. For example, when running, the impact is up to four times our body weight. With hiking, it can be up to 2.5 times our body weight. all this is fine in general but sometimes we can end up with impact related injuries and niggles, such as Achilles and knee tendonitis, shin splints, bruised heel pads and patella tendonitis, to name a few.

The Ultimate Performance Advanced F3D insoles have been designed to provide a 3mm damper between you and each ground strike. It’s claimed this will “dissipate 95% of the high frequency shockwaves”.

Boasting a PU Foam and TPU arch brace to create stability and support, too, the Advanced F3D is designed to suit most foot types and footwear.

There are different footbeds ot suit different foot strikes, including neutral and under and over-pronation.

RRP: £19.99.

My thoughts: Ultimate Performance Advanced F3D insoles

After trimming them to fit, I popped a pair of the insoles into a pair of my walking boots. I found the insoles offered great comfort levels. They felt more cushioned and supportive than the footbeds that came with the boots.

The insole is not too soft – too soft would be energy draining – but gives good foot and sole hugging support.

I can’t tell you if they made me walk faster, with better gait or if they have saved my joints from too much impact, but, certainly, I enjoyed walking with them below my feet.

I recommend these if you feel like the footbeds in your current boots or shoes and not supportive enough, or if the insoles are wearing out and you need a new boost of support and cushioning.
