Beautiful photos: Port Appin

And here’s another entry in my new “great photos of Scotland” blog series. The two pics of Port Appin, Argyll, on a cold February morning earlier this year come from my famous author friend and ex-colleague Douglas Jackson. Yes, he’s the one who so impressed publishers with his first novel Caligula that he’s being able to leave the day job at the Scotsman and write for a living. Of course I’m jealous! I do really like his photos of Scotland though! Dougie says: “The photos were taken at Port Appin. You can see the celebrated Appin Lighthouse in the second one with the snow-dusted Morvern peninsula in the background. It was so icy I could barely stay on my feet. The morning was so clear it took your breath away.”
