Dress up for the new Edinburgh Rat Run
A new event is likely to capture the imagination of a host of runners –and office workers – this summer! The inaugural Edinburgh Rat Run on Friday July 16 will see up to 100 men and women racing through the capital’s streets dressed in their fantasy work outfits.
Sub-titled The After Work Friday night “Fun-Run-In-Your-Work-Clothes!” this madcap event is another mass participation event created by the innovative organizers Rat Race Events.
The Edinburgh Rat Run is 4km long and will kick start the legendary Edinburgh Rat Race Urban Adventure Weekend.
Runners of all fitness levels and abilities are invited to don their own office uniforms or fantasy work clothes – what you wanted to be when you grew up! – for a bit of light running, jogging or walking from West Princes Street Gardens to the Castle Esplanade and back, taking in some of Edinburgh’s most famous landmarks en route.
Jim Mee, of Rat Race Events, said: “I’m confident our new Edinburgh Rat Run will be a winning formula of fresh air, exercise, office fancy dress, camaraderie and bite. It is a great way to launch the 2010 Rat Race weekend.”
Entry to the Edinburgh Rat Run is £10 in advance (£15 on the day) and includes entry to the Edinburgh Rat Run and Office Party plus a complimentary half pint from the event bar courtesy of Edinburgh’s Local Independent brewery, Stewart Brewing.
