Share your special running moment – and win a training day with top athlete

Written by Fiona March 16 2012

Sportswear brand ODLO (they do lovely pretty and funky fitness clothing for women… and good-looking stuff for guys, too) has launched a competition to find the most inspirational running stories from the public. And the five people who come up with the best, most inspirational, stories will win a unique training day with one of ODLO’s star athletes.

Basically readers, this is your chance to go training with one of a number of world-class athletes, such as distance runners Ingalena Heuck, Sören Ludolph and Tanja Eberhart, orienteer Simone Niggli-Luder and biathlete legend Ole Einar Björndalen.

To enter, all you have to do is submit your “running moment”. It could be the moment you crossed the finish line of a marathon, a moment of intense race rivalry or a moment out running by yourself in nature. It could be a picture, a video or a short description and can be in English, German, French or Italian.

Judging the competition will be ODLO product manager Roberta Lazzaroto and ODLO athlete Stefaan Engels, aka The Marathon
Man. Stefaan ran a marathon every day in 2010.

Roberta says:  “We want to hear from ordinary runners about those moments that make running so special. We are not judging how you write. Rather, we want to hear about those runs that stay in the memory long after the warm glow of satisfaction has passed.”

The competition opened yesterday (March 15) and will run for two months. Simply write down your most incredible Running Moment in no more than 150 words or send in a picture or movie clip of your run with a short description and ODLO will share the
selected entries on their Facebook fanpage. More details, competition rules and
the first entries can be found on: Odlo on Facebook

The five prizes will include return flights (from major European airports), a night in a 3-star hotel and lunch or dinner with the athlete plus two sets of ODLO running gear.

Now this has got me thinking! What about you?
