Kit review: Skiing ‘Helmet Hugger’

Written by Fiona October 22 2012

My snowboarding helmet is highly functional and practical – and it has saved my head from a bad knock on many occasions. It is also comfortable and as it’s black it goes with most outfits. I chose black because I knew that colour would stand the test of time. But it is a bit boring!

But no longer will I need to wear a boring black snowboard/ski helmet. I spotted a company on-line called Helmet Huggers. They supply funky covers for snowboard and ski helmets. The range is fun, colourful and fake furry! And I totally love my new Helmet Hugger.

You can see how the boring black helmet is transformed into a helmet that is fun – and very furry. My daughter’s friend Lucie is seen here modelling the helmet hugger, Les Violettes with Brown Wolf Faux Fur, for me.

If you have a helmet that needs a revamp or you think is a little too boring for the slopes this year, check out the Helmet Huggers website. The covers fit easily and snugly over most helmets and changes a dreary-looking helmet into something altogether much more extraordinary.

Watch out for forthcoming pictures of me snowboarding the slopes of Scotland and Europe wearing a Helmet Hugger this season!

* I was lucky enough to be sent a Helmet Hugger to try for free.
