Kit review: New Gore-Tex pro jacket

Written by Fiona January 17 2013

I have been testing a sample from Gore-Tex of their soon-to-be-released Gore-Tex Pro fabric. The jacket has been beautifully designed by Arc’teryx (The G-Force is more than a little jealous of this!) and Little Miss has nicknamed it the Starburst jacket!

get-attachment-68I am really impressed. If you have the money and need for a top-of-the-range Gore-Tex jacket and you can wait until autumn when all the big outdoor clothing brands will no doubt bring out their new Gore-Tex Pro jackets, I would recommend you do so. (Of course, you might well also pick up a bargain in the shape of the “old” Gore-Tex Pro Shell jackets at that time, too!)

My full Gore-Tex jacket kit review is on the Women’s Zone at MyOutdoors

Test summary Gore-Tex Pro jacket (out of possible 10)

Fit for females: 9 (This Arc’teryx design is for sample only.)

Does what it says on the label: 9 (Very waterproof, durable and comfy but I can’t decide how I can track 10 to 28% more breathability. Still, it does breathe very well.)

Quality: 9

Price: 7 (I always find Gore-Tex expensive although I have never had any complaints about the quality.)

Thanks to Ellen Arnison for taking the pic.
