Guest blog: Wellies for all occasions
My guest blogger is a huge fan of Hunter wellies. Given the way the weather has turned thundery and rainy this blog couldn’t be more poignant! She writes: Wellington boots are not only for muddy gardens, these days they can be as stylish and wearable as any other footwear.
And it’s Hunter wellies that win the most fashion points. You’ll not only enjoy unrivalled comfort from your boots, but look incredibly stylish whatever terrain you decide to tackle, from rainy city pavements to slippery, muddy hillsides.
Here’s how to wear your Hunter wellies.
Get the trendy festival look – his and hers style
If you’re heading to one of the ever-growing number of music festivals, wellies are a must. And how about a few tips from the stylish couple of the moment, Professor Green and Millie Mackintosh.
The pair were snapped at this year’s Glastonbury both in Hunter wellies. It was a case of all black for Made in Chelsea star Millie, who teamed her black boots with a chic black crop top and a pair of skimpy denim hot pants.
While not being able to compete with his fiancé when it came to turning heads, Professor Green still showed men how to look good in a pair of Hunters. His classic jeans looked brilliant tucked into knee-high red wellies, which were definitely the focus of his outfit.
The rapper completed the look with a t-shirt, though you may want to opt for a jacket instead so you are not left shivering due to Britain’s unpredictable weather.
Make Hunter wellies work, rain or shine
While wellies are traditionally only brought out of the wardrobe in wet weather, a post on the official Hunter blog recently shows that the footwear has so many more uses today. Take a look at the design that they have thought up in a collaboration with a blogger from A Pair & A Spare, Geneva, and you will find so many more ways you can rock your wellies this summer.
Hunter suggest that women team some stylish denim cut-off shorts with a pair of their knee-high boots. This is great if you are heading to those festivals, but how about when you’re going into town for a drink or a friend’s house for a good old-fashioned BBQ?
Our top tip when these occasions come along this summer is to stick with those denim shorts of yours, but to pair them up with flattering wellies from the amazing Hunter Sandhurst collection – they are designed to catch the eye in an instant and look just as smart as a pair of heels or sandals.
Hunter wellies fit for a lady
Did you know that Hunter wellies have previously been given royal recognition by none other than HM The Queen? You can understand how the range is appealing from a luxurious perspective when you take one look at the pair Carey Mulligan was snapped in recently.
In a photo-shoot for the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar – you can view the photo here – The Great Gatsby actress wore a Prada dress, teamed it with a pair of Original Short wellies and created a unique style that would not look out of place in even the poshest of five-star restaurants.
