Smooth, seamless, barely-there comfort, bright, colourful, practical, pretty, sweat wicking, feminine, sporty… all these words describe the sports underwear created by Pure Lime. The brand is Scandinavian and some of the models on the website are a little scary looking, but don’t let this put you off.

Pure Lime underwear has been cleverly designed and manufactured to create  some of my favourite products. These are items that I actively search for when dressing for sport and prefer above all others.

So what’s in the Pure Lime collection? There’s sports pants, sports bras, fitness vests, leggings, baselayer tops and in ranges to suit a number of sports, including running, walking and cycling.

What is immediately obvious when you put on any of the Pure Lime clothes and underwear is the amazingly soft, comfortable and seamless feel. It’s like adding a second skin because the fabric stretches in the same way that your body and skin flex. There are no annoying sticky in bits yet everything, including bums and boobs, also feels supported.

On the technical side of things, the Pure Lime fabric is moisture wicking and made from modern fabrics that allow for maximum stretch and freedom of movement. Some of the items are made with Tactel fabric and/or have extra ventilation in areas of the body that need it most, such as underarms, to allow the body to maintain a constant and comfortable temperature.

I also love the fabulous colour range of Pure Lime products. Why settle for black or white when you can have green, red, orange, pink, aqua and turquoise? This is underwear that can be hidden under your normal sports gear or proudly displayed as an outer layer (at the gym or on a warm day).

My favourite Pure Lime items

Pure Lime Seamless bra top: Supportive enough for lighter yoga or strolling type activities, the great thing about this bra top is the oh-so-comfy fit and feel. The colour range is also superb.

Pure Lime Compression bra: For more energetic activities, choose this sports compression bra made of CoolMax fabric. It includes a nifty feature, a heart rate sensor built in on the inside of the bra.

Pure Lime seamless shorts: These shaper style shorts give great support whether you’re out hiking, running or doing yoga. The seamless fabric is super comfortable and includes Tactel properties for keeping you cool when your sports make you hot.

Pure Lime Seamless T-shirt: Superb comfort and great wicking capabilities in this super light and seamless base-layer top. My favourite is the raspberry colour.

Pure Lime Speed Capri: I find it difficult to get running tights that fit and stay up while running. The Pure Lime tights feel great on and offer lots of freedom to move. The best bit is that they don’t fall down.

Pure Lime Evolution Bike Shorts: A great pair of bike shorts, especially if you’re new to cycling and don’t want the pad to be too ridiculously bulky. These fit well and offer good comfort levels in the saddle thanks to the Coolmax pad. Silicon elastics also ensure the shorts stay in place.

Pure Lime Seamless Long Sleeve: This was the first Pure Lime garment that I tried and the first time I realised how comfortable the Pure Lime fabric is against the skin. It’s been a firm favourite base-on-skin layer ever since for walking, running and cycling. I hardly feel as though I’m wearing anything yet my body stays at a nice even temperature.

New Pure Lime products

Pure Lime has been busy creating new products, and this time the theme is stripes. There is also a new Combi Bat Arm Tee, which offers a looser fit outer t-shirt layer over the tighter baselayer for a flattering look if you prefer things to be a little more on the comfy look side of things.

A word of warning: Many Pure Lime products are meant to be skin-tight tight. So this can be revealing of your body shape. This doesn’t need to matter because mostly you will wear the items under other fitness clothes. Many of the products are underwear items. Also, you could choose the products, such as the new Combi Bat Arm Tee, as above. The Pure Lime Twisted Tank is also a more flattering, loose fit.
