If you have anything to say about walking in Scotland, here’s your chance. Ramblers Scotland are inviting walkers to complete a survey about walking in Scotland.

Most walkers that I know have loads to say about what they like and don’t like about walking, from hiking mountains, to walking to the office or around a park.

The aim of the survey is to develop a 10-year vision for Ramblers Scotland.

Everyone who takes part in the survey will be entered into a draw to win prizes including two Berghaus Pulse softshell jackets, a Berghaus beanie hat and two Collins walking guides.

David Thomson, convener of Ramblers Scotland, said: “At a time when land reform is back on the political agenda and Scotland’s national walking strategy has recently been published, we are asking our members, and also members of the public who enjoy walking, to set out their thoughts on why walking is important.

“We’d like to know how we can make walking even more enjoyable for everyone in Scotland.

“Ramblers Scotland is the only organisation to represent the interests of all kinds of walkers. We have a long and proud heritage as campaigners on access and countryside issues.

“In 2015 it will be 10 years since the Scottish Parliament established world-beating access rights, and the walking public now mainly take access rights for granted.

“We have launched this survey as the first step in the process of developing a 10-year vision for Ramblers Scotland. We want to speak to as many Scottish walkers as possible, to find out what’s important to them. Their views will help to shape our vision.”
