Great stats news for my blog

I am excited by this recent development and please don’t think I am usually this showy-offy. Anyway, a PR emailed me this week to tell me thatCisionPoint, a much-referred-to PR and media data base company, has my website listed as 18,500 unique users per month.

I was amazed because Google Analytics no longer tell you “uniques” and, in any case, I’d not really been keeping track. www.fionaoutdoors.co.uk is mostly for the fun of writing.

I queried the results and the PR went away to do some investigating. But sure enough, I do seem to have great stats: 18,500 unique visitors per month, although I do not fully understand how they work this out. Still, I’ll take the figures and enjoy them.

I have never tried to artificially boost my site and I just write about the things I like to do and things and people that catch my eye. It shows that writing well and having a passion for what you do really does work in the long-term in the blogging world.

I have no doubt that those that know more than me might diss these results but for the moment I’ll enjoy the wee ego boost.
