I have been looking for a good winter dog walking boot and I think I have found it in the Bogs Sidney Lace Plaid wellie boots. Very practical yet also pretty stylish, the boots have already proved to be very useful on wet and wild autumnal days in Scotland.
Bogs Footwear is made in America. This season they have launched the women’s Sidney Lace Plaid waterproof ankle boot.
The boot combines Wellington boot waterproofing with a funky design. So, the lower part of the boot looks like a wellie, while the upper ankle section is made of a neoprene-style tartan fabric that can be laced up to give a comfy fit. This ankle part of the boot looked like it might leak but it doesn’t.
The ankle section is also patterned with tartan, which you’ll either love of hate! I quite like it. The laces are helpful because I normally find that wellies are a one-size-and-shape-fits-all and I have long and narrow feet with narrow ankles so they rarely fit. I can lace up the boots to fit nicely.
In addition, there is a Neo-Tech Lite insulation that provides lightweight warmth down to -15°C. I found the boots to be super warm.
There is also “Bogs Max-Wick technology” to ensure that sweat is moved away from your foot. I am not sure if this works really because my feet didn’t become that sweaty but it’s good that Bogs have thought about this.
I found the boots to be comfy, too. Bogs have added moulded EVA insoles and a 1.2cm heel.
Women’s Sidney Plaid Boot cost £80. See www.bogsfootwear.co.uk
