Paula’s bid to ride solo around the world

Written by Fiona

November 05 2015

A friend and fellow triathlete Paula Regener has an amazing plan. She is setting off next year to try to become the fastest woman to cycle around the world. It might surprise you (or perhaps not?!) that few women have tried to break this solo record but Paula is young and fit enough to give it a go.

The current record for cycling 18000 miles around the world is 144 days. Paula hopes to beat this on her east to west journey.

She will be writing about her plans, training, build up and attempt on her new blog Paula Regener Adventure Cyclist.

If there is anyone who can help her with sponsorship, kit, routes, training or simply go out cycling with her during the cruel Scottish winter months please do get in touch with her. Paula has listed some of the things she needs help with.

Paula is a lovely young woman. She’s bright (she’s just finished her psychology Phd), fit, fun and a great cyclist. I wish her well and I hope to keep you up-dated with her progress. I also think she is very brave. Cycling solo in some potentially very inhospitable places and for many months on end will take a lot of guts and determination. Good luck Paula!
