With spring in the air, many people will be keen to book a holiday or short break. If you want to spend time outdoors yet with some great creature comforts, how about a cabin in the forest? Forest Holidays has three locations in Scotland, as well as eight in England and two in Wales. Let’s take a look at the Scottish options:

Ardgartan Argyll.

Ardgartan Argyll, Loch Long

Ardgartan Argyll is in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and at the edge of Argyll Forest Park. This is where forest meets water on the shore of Loch Long.

There are 40 cabins and they each have a hot tub. The cabins are ideal for groups, families or couples. You can also book a cabin with a gas barbecue, log burning stove and outdoor kitchen on the decking.

What’s great about Ardgartan Argyll?

  • The cabins have beautiful lochside views
  • A choice of different cabins with one to three bedrooms
  • There are plenty of outdoors activities on the doorstep, such as hiking in the Arrochar Alps, a cruise of Loch Lomond, mountain biking and exploring the wider national park.
Glentress Forest, Peebles.

Forest Holidays in Glentress has log cabins with one to five bedrooms situated amid a mature pine forest. Glentress is acclaimed as a hotspot for mountain biking.

Located near the popular tourist town of Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, there is also a host of other outdoors fun to be had, including canoeing on the River Tweed, walking and cycling on routes such as the River Tweed Trail and John Buchan Way and Go Ape Adventures.
