Trail running at Gleniffer Braes, Paisley

Glasgow Triathlon Club organises a “rugged run” training series during the winter. Every other Saturday we head off for a morning trail run, either north or south of Glasgow. It’s a chance to see new places, run with other club members and generally enjoy a different kind of training.

On Saturday, the Rugged Run took place at Gleniffer Braes, Paisley, and was led by our president Sean. It was cold, misty, snowy, muddy, boggy and hilly but it was also great fun, chatty, fairly easy going and rewarding. Here is the training run in photographs.

We made it to the hill cairn through the snow and mist.

White tights turned grey by lots of mud!

I wonder if there is a washing powder that will turn these white again?

GTC runners jump for joy. It’s over!

Thanks, too, to Yvonne for supplying me with fantastic flapjack for my drive home.
