Two women are doing a charity run of 500km in five days – in their underwear.
Lucja Leonard, of Edinburgh, and Londoner Marina Ranger will run the length of The Netherlands wearing just a bra and pants (as well as their trainers!) with the aim of raising £20,000 for the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
The women set off tomorrow to run their epic Simply Runderful quest on the Pieterpad trail, from Pieterburren in the north of Holland to Maastricht in the south. They will run 100km (just over 60 miles each day) and further than they have run in one go before.
Lucja and Marina met while taking part in a three-day ultra running race in the Kalahari desert three years ago. They both wanted to do something to raise money for breast cancer charities.
Lucja, 37, who was born in Holland and raised in Australia, has been personally touched by breast cancer after three of her aunts and her mother-in-law were treated successfully with the removal of their breasts and ongoing treatment.
Lucia and Marina, 25, feel that as two young woman this is a real threat that we all need to be very aware of, which is why they are supporting the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
The women will be wearing pink Runderwear. The running underwear company are also supporting the Simply Runderful challenge by donating 10% of the sale of any of the Ruderwear pink hipster brief and crop top to The Pink Ribbon Foundation. a
The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a UK-based charity that funds and supports projects by UK charities which help to fight breast cancer.
