Do you know about the free and timed local run in Glasgow (that isn’t a parkrun)? The Great Run Local Glasgow takes place on Wednesdays at  6.30pm from the Tradeston (Squiggly) Bridge.  The weekly event comprises a free timed 5km and 2km along the banks of the River Clyde.

Great Run Locals are growing and expanding across the UK. The aim is to increase participation in running through free and enjoyable events.

The Great Run Local Glasgow is run by volunteer Emma O’Rourke. She says: “The two distances, 5km and 2km, are timed so you can see how you improve each week. The atmosphere of the weekly meet ups is friendly and it’s a nice route along the Clyde.

“We would love to see more people coming along.”
