My Outdoors blogger of the year honour

Written by Fiona

January 01 2017

I am absolutely delighted to have won Best Blogger of the Year 2016 in the My Outdoors on-line and social media  awards.

Dave Mycroft, who runs My Outdoors, is a keen observer of the outdoors media on-line. If he believes that I am Blogger of the Year then I am very proud, chuffed, delighted and bowled over.

Dave runs is own great website, My Outdoors, and we have sometimes collaborated. Mostly we get on with our own thing and I admire his amazing work. Now, it seems, he has been admiring mine, too. Thanks Dave for recognising the hard work I put into my blog.

My Outdoors states:

The Winner of the Best Blog 2016 goes to Fiona Russell for Fiona Outdoors.

Although primarily focused on Scotland and particularly female athletes in Scotland, Fiona provides a nearly non-stop stream of well-written and well-researched news and reviews that appeals to an audience far beyond the boundaries of Scotland.

Other awards go to:

Winner of the Best Use of Social Media By A Brand 2016: Inov-8

Winner of the Best Festival 2016:  Kendal Mountain Festival.

Winner of the Best Use of Digital Media 2016: Andrew White.

Winner of Best Podcast 2016: Niall Grimes for his Jam Crack Podcasts.
