David’s fastpacking journey to Ben Alder

David Mair is keen to inspire more people to enjoy the trails of Scotland through his On the Adventure Trails videos.

He recently enjoyed a fastpacking trip around the Munros of Ben Alder. The journey started at remote Corrour station and covered 29 miles and 6,000ft of ascent. He also took in a night at Ben Alder Cottage Bothy and reports that “the spooks weren’t around the night I stayed!”.

David adds: “Fastpacking is a brilliant sport. Simply put, it’s a sport where you strap a small amount of gear, food and water on your back and go running and power hiking for days at a time.

“You sleep under the stars wherever your feet have landed you. You cover big miles and earn even-bigger views.”

Here is a video he made of the outing:

I really like this idea for making videos to inspire people to hike and run new trails in Scotland. See more videos On the Adventure Trails.
