Harry, 15, hikes and bikes Goatfell mountain
I have walked and run to the top of 874m Goatfell on the Isle of Arran many times. It’s a steep, rocky climb in many places so I’m very impressed by this video that reveals a superb hike-n-bike ascent and descent by 15-year-old Harry McGarvie, of Ayrshire.
Here is a POV edit of Harry’s mountain bike ride down Goatfell. He said: “This was a challenging task, both on the ascent and descent. I hike-a-biked up the hill with my enduro bike, avoiding the massive boulders and slabs, before tackling the perilous descent made up of steep slopes, super grippy rock slabs, massive rock gardens and hordes of tourists.”
As well as showing off the fantastic terrain on Goatfell, the islands’ tallest mountain, I love the video because it shows how polite Harry is as he passes the people walking up the mountain.
