I really like the SunGod brand because of the the ability to choose highly customisable and interchangeable ski and snowboard goggles. The brand also has some snazzy sunglasses.
On a practical level I want ski goggles that fit well and have lenses that I can change to suit a range of conditions and are durable.
I also want them to look good; different from all the rest but in a funky kind of way, if possible.
SunGod is a new company but they appear to have put a lot of thought into the brand and their ski/snowboard goggles. The SunGod Revolt goggles are the result of the company founders being “frustrated with over-priced, under-performing goggles”.
They have already successful launched their SunGod adventureproof sunglasses. The feedback and sales of these has been very good so they decided to turn to ski goggles next.
SunGod ski goggles in the making
The founders spent two winter seasons developing, prototyping and testing SunGod Revolts in a range of conditions.
The resulting Revolts feature:
- Customisible designs that you can pick on-line
- Four colours of frame
- Six different tints of easy-switch interchangeable 4KO®snow lenses
- 10 different strap designs
- Fully replaceable parts
Dual layer lenses
The spherical lenses are made from impact-resistant polycarbonate and feature a dual-layer so you get great all round vision and they won’t team up. In addition, there’s a triple-layer scratch-resistant coating to ensure they remain in the best condition.
Easy-switch lens system
The easy-switch lens system allows you change the lens quickly and securely so you can ski well whatever the conditions.
SunGod ski goggle frames are made from super-flexible TPU that forms to your face and gives a great fit. They are also lightweight and durable.
SunGod Revolts fit with all modern helmets from most major brands so you do not suffer with goggle gap.
The vent system offers good airflow through three foam-lined upper vents and 16 circular lens vents,
It’s fun to order SunGod goggles
I enjoyed the on-line process. You can pick the frame colour first and then browse the different lenses. The on-screen display shows you exactly what the frames look like with different lenses.
I also checked out the difference between the tints to find out what weather they work best in and in the end I chose two lenses. The first is an all-weather general purpose lens and the other is for low light on white-out days.
Then you can choose the strap, with various different colours and designs.
Once you are happy with your choices you pop them in the basket. The SunGod goggles with one lens cost £95 and it’s £45 for each extra lens.
The SunGod goggles arrive
The delivery is swift (it’s free if you spend £100 or more). The SunGod goggles also look really well made.
You can take a look and order your SunGod Revolt goggles.
