Meet the Munroaming doggies

Written by Fiona

February 12 2018

I asked if walkers in my Munroaming group on Facebook would like to tell me about their dogs and the Munros. I have been delighted by the response. From dogs that have walked a couple of Munros to those that have ticked off almost 180, they are all deserving of a place in the post.

I have no idea how many Munros Wispa the Wonder Whippet has climbed but I do enjoy a big day out with her. This is an example of one of the dogs clutching his favourite book.

Mac and his Munros book.

Lots of fantastic Munroaming dogs

Rafe.

Rafe, another Border colie, is the much-loved pet of Elaine Stockdale. Rafe has walked 150 Munros. Elaine said: “He’s nearly 13 now, so he is slowing down. He always has to be the first to the summits, so when he sees a pile of rocks, any pile of rocks, he scrambles to the top.”

Scott and Breagh.

Scott McCormick owns Breagh, a flat coated retriever who has walked 179 Munros.

Anne Carberry and Ozzy, the golden retriever, have bagged 20 Munros together.

Roxy and her snowball coat.
