Brits choose outdoors staycation for 2018

Brits have given the outdoors staycation a big thumbs up for this summer. According to a survey by UK holiday park and holiday caravan sales operator, Away Resorts, 55% of Brits will be taking their main holiday at a lodge or caravan park this year, with another 30% saying they’ll be glamping or camping.

More than 500 consumers were surveyed and asked about their holiday plans for 2018. The data suggests that outdoor breaks are a growing favourite among UK holidaymakers.

Some 60% of respondents also said that the local area is the key influencing factor when booking their holiday, which reveals that many Brits like to stay at home for their holidays.

The survey also found that the second most influential factor for 48% of respondents is the accommodation. Many people enjoy a staying at a holiday parks for the  all-inclusive experience and entertainment geared towards outdoor pursuits. Away Resorts’ holiday parks have a range of outdoor activities from alpaca walks through forests to water zorbing.
