ISBJÖRN of Sweden has launched a waterproof, fluorocarbon-free hard shell jacket, the Monsune, designed for active teenagers who want to look stylish but stay dry and protected in the outdoors.
In keeping with ISBJÖRN’s green credentials, the Monsune Hard Shell Jacket uses a bluesign approved two-layer waterproof membrane and “Bionic Finish” Eco durable water-repellent treatment to keep the wet out.
ISBJÖRN also advocates the 4Rs (reduce, reuse, repair, recycle) and encourage their customers to pass down products up to three times to friends, siblings and cousins.

I asked my friend Ellen’s son, Cormac, aged nine, to test the jacket. He was very pleased when it arrived because he was about to go on a school trip and he needed a waterproof jacket.
Cormac undertook the testing of the jacket with the great seriousness and focus.
He said: “I love it. It’s really comfortable and easy to put on. You can wear it to do anything.
“Some jackets you can’t run in, but you can run in this one.
“It’s overall a brilliant jacket and it’s not too heavy or too light.
“I love how the inside of the sleeves come down to keep your hands warm.
“I love the bright colour.”
Ellen said: “From a parent’s point of view the jacket is very well made and looks smart.
“It is a good weight for the summer and will also work in the winter over layers.
“The reflective pattern means he’s visible when it’s dark and the orange colour means he’s more visible in the day light.
“I am not sure about the price as it seems a lot to pay for a child’s jacket but it does have extendable cuffs for extra growth and the product looks like it will be durable so we could pass it on to cousins or friends to make the price tag friendlier.”
