On Running launches new Cloudventure trail shoe

On Running has launched the new On Cloudventure for trails. I have had a pair of these shoes for some six weeks and I have enjoyed walking and running on trail in them.

On’s new Cloudventure trail shoe provides “unique” downhill cushioning and the newly developed Missiongrip outsole.

Most at home in the Swiss Alps, On’s developers know what trail running demands, including a stable shoe with good grip that can cope with the impact of the descent.

I have reviewed the On Cloudventure.

The Cloudventure’s newly developed Missiongrip outsole provides exactly this. On’s iconic cushioning elements – Clouds – are made from Zero Gravity foam and positioned to simultaneously absorb impact and improve grip on unstable terrain.

The “sticky” Missiongrip overlay features a varied grip pattern to help runners keep a secure footing on variable terrain.

This reinforces the Cloudtec cushioning for the demands of the trail, adding what is described as “a new level of freedom and fun to running downhill”.

A waterproof version of the On Cloudventure is also available. It has a water column of 10,000m thanks to the advanced On membrane that keeps your feet warm and dry while still letting them breathe.

On founder and former professional athlete Olivier Bernhard said: “Truly experiencing nature has always been our passion. With the new Cloudventure on our feet and eight years of experience behind us, we’re getting ready for our next adventure.”

In 2019, the On range will expand to include outdoor shoes and clothing aimed at all active nature lovers.
