Review: SAxx Kinetic Pants

My guest kit reviewer Seth G has been testing SAxx Kinetic pants. The pants are meant for sporty men and boast an amazing number of features. Here are his thoughts.

On test: SAxx Kinetic pants

There is a common tip passed around in the public speaking realm recommending that if you are nervous about standing up and speaking before others you should imagine everyone in their underwear. Personally, I find this distressing. Save yourself the mental anguish and scarred imagination and just recite your speech.

However, if you do have to imagine everyone in their underwear, I would recommend you clothe your listeners in those created by SAXX.

Features:

  • Athletic design with 4-way stretch and semi-compression fit.
  • Ballpark Pouch: A 3D hammock-shaped pouch designed to keep everything in place, ensuring chafe-free support.
  • Flat Out Seams: Seam stitching is reversed, placing the flatter and softer side against the body.
  • Three-D Fit: A nine-panel construction creates 3D support around glutes, thighs, quads and hamstrings.
  • Moisture-wicking: Designed to combat clamminess and allow moisture to move away from the skin.
  • £30.
  • SAxx.

Pros: What’s incredible about the Kinetic Boxer briefs?

Comfort: “Each pair is designed to give you total support and complete freedom of movement.” This is true. These are definitely the most comfortable pants I have worn.

They were designed with support and comfort in mind. Whether running, hiking, or everyday use, I had zero of the normal issues faced with activity in standard briefs.

Wicking ability: The fabric is great for moving moisture out.

Drying: I did three days on the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain and put these to the test by only wearing these, washing them in the shower and putting them back on (don’t judge).

While putting on wet underwear is not the most enjoyable experience, it is possible. The pants dried out fine for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Quality: I have seen no deterioration of the seams or fabric in all of the washing and wearing over the past months of repeated usage.

Cons: What’s not so good about the Kinetic Boxer briefs?

Saxx provides a variety of styles. The Kinetic style does not have a fly, which could be annoying, so make sure you select the right style for you.

They also have a raised rubber label on the waistband. It did not create any issues that I noticed, but I was a little concerned that it could begin to peel off in the future and be annoying. *Note: It hasn’t happened yet, despite months of use.

Conclusion on SAxx sports pants

These are the pants I would wear if I were to take an adventure trip around the world. They are so comfortable, I would probably even toss in a second pair.
