7km Scottie dog run around Bearsden, Scotland

I am ridiculously pleased with this run! It is a 7km running route around my local suburb, Bearsden, near Glasgow, that creates the form of a Scottie Dog (a Scottish terrier).

It came about because I was trying to replicate another animal form, a reindeer, at Christmas. However, the streets in my local area were not suitable for a Rudolph and, instead, I managed to draw the outline of a Scottie Doggie on OS Maps.

Map is orientated north.

Just to be sure it worked, Hubby G and I jogged it today. It took us a while because we needed to check the street turnings (we made a mistake early on and had to to re-start!) but I think the final route looks good.

It’s an undulating route and would be perfect for hill reps and interval training if local runners or running groups fancied that.

You see the route on OS Maps and download a GPX. Any problems, just email me and I will send you the GPX download.
