They look like the inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max shoe execept they are not bright green. Thankfully they also behave just like the inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max shoe, which I have reviewed and really like.

What are they? The new Mont Blanc limited edition of the inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max shoe.

The trail running shoe is black and white and features the height of Europe’s most famous mountain (4810m) on the midsole and footbed. The shoe also boasts contour lines – inspired by mapping from The Alps region – across the upper.

The inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max, first launched in March, is the only running shoe to utilise both graphene-enhanced foam and rubber.

Designed for trail runners tackling ultramarathon distance events and challenges, the shoe has become one of inov-8’s best-selling products and scooped an “innovation of the year” award.

Mont Blanc limited edition

Michael Price, COO of British-born inov-8, said: “It’s amazing to think it’s 235 years ago since the first recorded ascent of Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest – and toughest – peak.

“Since then, the mountain and the incredible trails that surround it, have inspired countless runners, hikers and climbers, all drawn to its grandeur and challenges.

“We wanted to design a special footwear edition that reflected the toughness of those who push limits on Mont Blanc’s slopes, and what better than on a running shoe that boasts the use of the world’s toughest material, graphene.”

It’s a great trail shoe – in black and white

In my review of the inov-8 Trailfly Ultra G 300 Max shoe, I wrote that I liked the cushioned sole. I also like the great grip, the comfort and lots of other points.

Whether you choose to buy the original green or the new limits edition, it’s up to you. There is also a new purple colourway, too. They are all great trail running shoes.

My only gripe is the price. There are runnikng shoes that are well over the £10 mark these days, but £170 is a bit ouchy.

  • Note that I receive a small commission for sales of inov-8 shoes.
