2 great Wild Guides for France and the French Alps

I really like the Wild Things Publishing guide books, including Wild Guide Scotland, Islandeering, Bikepacking UK, the Wild Running guide and the Scottish Bothy Bible.

Now two more guides have been added to the list and this time they focus on France.

There’s Wild Guide French Alps by the founders of Walk Highlands, Helen and Paul Webster, and Wild Swimming France by Daniel Start.

Wild Guide French Alps

There is so much to inspire in this book with lots of ideas for adventures, hidden places and gems in the mountains of southern and eastern France.

In total the authors have suggested 500 secret adventures and 350 wilder places to eat and sleep.

Discover mountain lakes, river swims, waterfalls, glaciers, canyons, gorges, ancient ruins, forts, tunnels, caves, wildlife, lesser-known peaks, cycling hills, high passes, scenic tours, farm produce, village markets, picnic spots, restaurants, wilder campsites, mountain refuges and rustic hideaways, among many other brilliant finds and destinations.

Priced around £18.99. See Wild Guide French Alps.

Wild Swimming France

Daniel Start has come up with a list of his 1000 most beautiful rivers, lakes, waterfalls and natural pools in this 2nd edition of the popular Wild Swimming France guide.

If you are a keen wild swimmer and you are looking for a destination outside the UK, this book is packed full of ideas.
