Five tips for having the most fun possible while in London

If you’re planning a trip to London, you’ll want to make sure that you have the most fun possible while you’re there. It’s a large and busy city so to ensure you enjoy the sights and sounds of England’s capital it is a good idea to do a bit of planning. Here are five tips to help you make the most of your time in London:

Store your bags in a luggage locker

One of the best ways to have a lot of fun in London is to leave your luggage in a Stasher storage locker and explore the city with a light bag. This way, you’ll be able to walk around without having to worry about your belongings and you’ll have more time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. A Stasher storage locker is an inexpensive way to protect your belongings without having to worry about them.

Visit tourist traps during off-peak hours

Many people associate London with a hectic, expensive and crowded city. But if you’re looking for fun experiences while there, don’t visit London during the busiest hours of the day. Traffic is always a nightmare, but it can be even worse when everyone else tries to get out of the city, or in, because they’re running late for a show or dinner reservation. Instead, if you have time, try visiting places like Madame Tussauds at 5pm or visiting the Tower from 11am to 1pm on weekdays. Check ahead to be sure of opening hours.

The best times to visit are mid-morning or late afternoon/evening on weekdays when most people are working. You’ll be able to enjoy the attractions without long lines and huge crowds.

Many attractions allow you to book ahead on-line. This can help to avoid queuing for tickets at the venue.

Don’t be afraid to haggle

Haggling is not as common in London as in other parts of the world, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. If you’re buying souvenirs, especially in markets, it’s perfectly acceptable to haggle for a better price. Many vendors will expect it, and you might be able to get a better deal if you haggle.

Get an Oyster Card

It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting for a day or for more than a week, getting an Oyster Card is a must. Before leaving your hotel, get to the nearest tube station and purchase an Oyster Card. This will allow you unlimited travel on all London buses, trains and underground stations.

With this card, you can also take advantage of other discounts such as reduced museum entrance fees and discounts on popular attractions like The London Eye and Madame Tussauds. When travelling around London, always keep your Oyster Card with you so that it’s always ready to go when needed.

Use your feet!

One way to have the most fun possible is to walk and explore. London has so many amazing places just a short walk away from the centre of town. Walking is also a great way to see the city from a different perspective. But, if you carry your luggage with you, it’s always difficult to manage them, and there you have affordable and secured storage facilities. And, if you get tired, there’s always the Tube to take you back to your hotel or the next attraction.

Have fun and enjoy your time in London. These five tips will help you make the most of your trip and ensure that you have a great time. With a little planning, you can maximise your fun and make the most of your time in this fantastic city.
