Canada is by far one of the most impressive countries in the world. With territories expanding through the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, it is only natural that the rural images are mind-blowing. If you are seeking a scenic holiday with some of the best natural sights in the world, Canada is definitely for you. Check out our top natural wonders to relish.

Niagara Falls

World-famous Niagara comprises three waterfalls, which eventually flow into the St Lawrence River and the Atlantic Ocean.

There is no accurate way to describe the sight and sounds of the fall, rather you need to see – and hear – them to appreciate the magnitude. While on the way to the waterfalls, there is plenty to do, including miles of hiking, thrilling attractions and picturesque scenery all around.

You can see the falls in different ways, at observation decks, by boat, by helicopter and even by journeying behind the falls into tunnels.

The Northern Lights

The Northern Lights are an exciting sight to behold. Many places in Canada provide you with potential views of the stunning colourful Auroras, but the most popular ones are Yukon, Northern Manitoba and Northwest Territories.

You still have to do a lot of research to ensure that you see this magnificent phenomenon, but just be thorough and with enough luck, you will get to enjoy a silent night of an exploding skyline above you. If you need help traveling around while Aurora-hunting, check out canadatrains.com to find the best transportation for you.

While the Northern Lights are in no way exclusive to Canada, the extremely clear air and low light pollution make the country one of the top places to look for them. There are also plenty of quiet corners and remote villages perfect for an all-nighter.

Lake Moraine

Do you know those beautiful postcards with crystal clear waters amid mountainous areas and grand nature? Well, you can insert yourself in the postcard by traveling to Lake Moraine.

This glacially fed lake is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, Alberta, and is the central part of the Banff National Park. With a distinctive shade of azure blue, the lake looks simply magical and certainly falls into the category of one of the most impressive natural wonders of Canada.

Make sure you have enough time to explore, though. There is simply too much to see just to glimpse at it in passing. So, instead, take your time discovering the hidden waterfalls, mighty glaciers and rock piles of the lake.

The Great Bear Rainforest

There are many amazing species of wildlife to see in Canada and a great place to visit is the Great Bear Rainforest.

In British Columbia, between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains, the Great Bear Rainforest is a global treasure, covering more than six million hectares of nature and serving as a habitat for plenty of different animals.

Bears live between the misty valleys and glacier-cut fjords and it is possible to view them from afar. The Canadian grizzly bear population is thought to be 26,000. More than half of the bears live in British Columbia, with some 1400 in the Great Bear Rainforest.

The rainforest is extremely important to Canadians because it is a part of the Pacific temperate rainforest ecoregion, which is the largest coastal temperate rainforest in the world.

Haida Gwaii

British Columbia is home to an amazing protected archipelago of some 450 islands, with the most impressive wildlife and greenery.

Not only that, but Haida Gwaii has more than 500 archeological and natural heritage sites.

With the dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife, Haida Gwaii is a must-see on your Canadian trip. It is said that this is probably the best place to enjoy Canada’s natural wonders because it so perfectly combines fauna, marine and history.

Dive in straight into the deep end of Canada’s natural gems and take your camera when going to Haida Gwaii.

Where will you choose to visit first on your holiday to Canada?
